Mrs. Shabnam Gulzar, Teacher, Grades K-4
I was born and raised in Pakistan, and for my early education, I went to a Christian
school in my hometown. For higher education, my parents decided to send me to Pakistan Adventist
Seminary, where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After finishing my
Bachelor’s, I started serving at the Pakistan Adventist Seminary elementary school, where I
taught multigrades in grades 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. While working, I pursued further education
and obtained a Master’s.
After I married, the Lord called us for mission service in Africa at the Adventist
University of Lukanga in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We served there for 17 years, and I
worked in different capacities as a university cashier, lecturer, and registrar. The Lord used our
family in many ways apart from the work at the university to spread the good news of His
second return. We moved to the United States in 2019, and I started by volunteering as a
teacher’s aide in the lower grades at Milwaukee Seventh-day Adventist School. I finally worked as a
food services director and cook for three years at the school. I firmly believe in Adventist
Education and its transformational power.
I am excited to be part of the Three Angels School family, and I can’t wait for what God has in store for me and the school. I would like to see kids grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, and physically and be a witness for the Lord as they grow older. When I’m not in the classroom, I like to cook, spend time with my family and take walks.

Mrs. Vanessa Sloan, Principal/Teacher, Grades 5-8
My family and I attended Madison East SDA Church regularly as a young person and never in a million years did I think that I would be back to teach at Three Angels Christian School. God certainly has a sense of humor! I'm excited to be back, and this time with a family of my own. I can't wait to see how God will bless our school this year.
I believe in Seventh-day Adventist education because I experienced it. I attended Wisconsin Academy all four years and went on to Union Adventist University where I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 2017. I also received my Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Southern Indiana in 2023.
I have taught grades 1-10 and have only taught in multi-grade classrooms. I especially enjoy teaching the upper elementary grade students. It's rewarding to see them become more aware of themselves and I like that they challenge me to think outside the box. It's a blessing to be a part of their academic and spiritual journeys. When I'm not teaching I like to go on walks, read, try new cooking recipes, and spend time with family.
